The Steel Academy – seminars on all aspects of steel
The Academy’s programme includes technical topics such as the recycling of steel, iron and steel production, or material technology. The range of technical subjects is expanded with seminars on economics, events on management topics, and intercultural courses.
Highly topical steel seminars
The Steel Academy offers seminars on a range of topics.
The Steel Academy aims to constantly expand its programme of seminars and adapt to current social and technical challenges. In addition to the technical events that make up the majority, newly conceived seminars on energy and the environment (e.g. on energy efficiency) were offered in 2013.
Seminars are attended by, among others, employees from the iron and steel works as well as from the supplier and user industries.
The high level of the events is ensured through collaboration with universities, technical colleges and institutes.
The Steel Academy offered its first English-language seminar in 2000: “Electrical Engineering of Arc Furnaces”. Seven international events now take place regularly. Additional seminars are planned as part of the Europeanisation of the Steel Institute VDEh. This alignment has resulted in the attendance of numerous participants from Europe and beyond.
